Turtles (Chelonia mydas) are a large sea turtle which takes their name from the
fat found beneath their carapace. (Their shells, ironically, are brown to black
in colour) These large migratory herbivores often inhabit shallow lagoons
but also travel long distances between feeding and nesting grounds.
Green turtles are perhaps one of the most iconic animals that swim the sea and to celebrate this beautiful creature Pobjoy Mint is producing a stunning new BU coin. The design on this beautiful coin features the Green Turtle with a reverse frosted effect on the coin. The obverse of the coin features the Pobjoy exclusive effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
